Billy Dowd Casting is circulating a flier that advertises an open casting call for “Flapjack,” which appears to be the code name for the new “Ghostbusters” reboot that’s filming around Boston this summer. The flier says that locals who want to be extras in the film should head to the Boston Teachers Union in Dorchester on Sunday between 2 and 6 p.m. The casting call is open to people 18 and older. The instructions say to bring a clear photo of yourself. We don’t know why “Ghostbusters” is being called “Flapjack,” but we can guess. We found a 2013 interview with “Ghostbusters” director Paul Feig on RedEyeChicago.com in which Feig says that if he were a rapper, his rap name would be Flapjack. “I’d just be Flapjack,” Feig says. “Or I’d be DJ Flapjack if I was spinning things.” Feig was at Laugh Boston over the weekend to see one of his “Ghostbusters” stars, Leslie Jones, perform a surprise stand-up set. Jones’s costar Melissa McCarthy, meanwhile, was spotted dining at Mare Oyster Bar in the North End with her husband, actor-director Ben Falcone. For the record, it’s not unusual for movies to have code names while they’re filming. David O. Russell’s latest project, “Joy,” which filmed in Massachusetts earlier this year, also went by the name “Kay’s Baptism.”
