The long-awaited opening of the Container Store is opening on Oct.28.
That's when the store -- known for its storage and organization products -- will open its doors in the Staten Island Mall, New Springville, said a Container Store spokeswoman.

The store will be located in the 23,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Sears Auto Body.

Hiring 50 people
The Container Store will hire about 50 people. The Staten Island store will be the company's 90th store nationwide and sixth location in New York.

In search of a super fan
The Container Store is in search of its Staten Island super fan. Interested candidates are encouraged to email PR@containerstore.com sharing why they are worthy of super fan status by submitting a photo, video or email entry. One lucky winner will receive recognition as the area super fan, gaining special access to the grand opening celebration, which includes being first in line at the opening on Saturday, a super fan sash, crown, their very own super fan “tricked out” gold shopping cart, a goodie box filled with product and a $250 Store More Card.

11,000 Products
The store at Staten Island Mall will feature 11,000 of multi-functional products meant to solve everything from the smallest to the most intimidating organizational challenges.

The Staten Island store will open with POP! the retailer’s customer loyalty program of Perfectly Organized Perks! The first Container Store opened in 1978 in Dallas.
