Donald Trump has now crossed the delegate threshold to win the Republican nomination for president, the Associated Press reported Thursday.

A candidate needs 1,237 delegates to lock up the nomination. After interviewing some of the party’s unbound delegates who acknowledged they will support him, the AP says they’ve determined Trump has 1,238 delegates.

Texas Sen. [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] has 559 delegates, Florida Sen. [crscore]Marco Rubio[/crscore] has 165 delegates and Ohio Gov. John Kasich has 161 delegates. Neurosurgeon Ben Carson has seven delegates, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has four delegates and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Kentucky Sen. [crscore]Rand Paul[/crscore] all have one delegate.

Several more states are still scheduled to vote: On June 7, California, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota will be the last states to vote.

Trump won’t officially become the nominee until the Republican National Convention in July.
