In the wake of Brexit and the rise of Donald Trump in America, Samantha Bee kindly reminded her viewers of the major similarity between the British people and Americans: xenophobia. Or, as Bee puts it, "our irrational fear of scary Muslims who have the nerve to live among us."

In a segment from Full Frontal With Samantha Bee, Bee travels to Dearborn, Michigan, the town with the highest Muslim population in America, to investigate why this Muslim community isn't doing more to turn in terrorists and stop attacks, as so many political pundits assert.

What she finds is a town that loves America.

"Our community in Dearborn actually has set the standard for the relationship with the police department," Kassam Ali, who runs the biggest mosque in America, told Bee.

Throughout their conversation, Bee presses Ali on what they do to catch extremists in their community. "There have been instances where we were concerned about someone but they didn't really pan out," Ali said. "When we find these terrorist we will turn them in. Sorry to disappoint you and many others but the reality is that Muslims are doing their share. We are addressing community issues like any other community would."

Bee also spoke with Mike Jaafar, a Muslim-American who is the deputy police chief of Dearborn. Bee asked Jaafar if he had foiled any big terrorism plots in the town as police chief. "Are you sure you're trying hard enough?" she asked.

"We take terrorism very seriously in this town, in this county, in this state," Jaafar replied. "As far as spoiling any plots, no we have not."

He told Bee that the most common law enforcement issues he encounters are everyday, normal events, like someone drinking too much at a football game. (What could be more American than that?)

The scariest group Bee found was a bunch of white, anti-Muslim activists who brought hateful signs and a pig head on a stick to the Arab Festival in Dearborn. Bee interviewed one of the activists and pulled in some prime Donald Trump quotes that mirrored exactly what he was saying about dipping bullets in pig's blood.

Bee ends her Dearborn trip by revisiting her interview with Ali, asking him if there is anything he'd like to say for the thousandth-and-one time on national television for the general public to ignore. "American Muslims love America. We love what our country stands for, we are proud of our country," he said.
