Nick Jonas Would Break His 'No Bathroom Selfie' Rule For Daniel Craig

He also would've totally been an English major. Probably.

Nick Jonas is getting older.

The "Levels" singer is riding the waves of releasing some very solid R&B-influenced singles in the past year, including "Chains" and "Jealous" and "Area Code." He's also getting more comfortable being the age he's always felt he was, as he said in a new i-D magazine interview. "I've never felt the age that I am. But now I feel like I'm starting to catch up," Nick said. "Now I'm the age I've been my entire life."

Nick's embarking on the first leg of his potentially dystopian-themed Future Now tour with BFF Demi Lovato and starring as an MMA fighter in season two of the series "Kingdom." And as this goes down, it's cool to see he's looking back on his career -- but that he's looking ahead, too. And he's got plans, man.

Here's what we learned from the interview.

He's not into selfies...

That Friday feeling when you know the weekend is almost here.. Happy Friday everyone.

"Social media is not important. It's discouraging when you go to dinner with friends and their priority is posting pictures of the food and not having a good conversation."

...unless they're selfies with Daniel Craig.

"In the right environment I'd say, 'DC. Let's get a pic.'"

He thrives off of the challenges of his past image.

"The biggest compliment is when people hear my music and don't believe it's me. Every day there's an element of risk. How are people going to react? I don't put any pressure on myself. There's an acceptance for me as a solo artist, as a man. But if people don't like me, I'm not crushed."

Lady Gaga and Kanye West are his inspirations.

"I also look up to Kanye and Lady Gaga. She makes an impact without being afraid of anything. Unapologetic artistry is the best. You respect the people who are moving and shaking and not listening to anybody's naysaying. That's the kind of artist I hope to be."

He feels more "human" now that he's on his own.

MTV TRL With The Jonas Brothers

"With the Brothers, it wasn't always very human. Now I say what I want.

He didn't mind cross-dressers chaining him up for a "Chains" performance.

"I walked in and they said, 'We want to chain you up.' They thought I was going to say, 'Hell no, I'm not doing that.' But I said, 'F--k it, let's go.' Actually, it was kind of cool. There was a moment when I thought my circulation might get cut off while I was singing."

He thinks he could've been an English major...maybe.

"I once visited Northwestern thinking I'd go there. I'd like to believe I could have been an English major. The dumb part is that I don't enjoy reading that much."

He's all about equal rights.

Nick Jonas Kingdom

"Accepting the gay community was a priority because they've been so accepting of me. My message is not just acceptance but action. I don't view it as my battle, but I'm happy to raise my voice for a cause that I believe in."

His advice? "Never believe your own hype."

"I don't mean to sound like a dick. Famous people who are frustrated about people's interest in their personal life exhaust me. It's so narcissistic to think that anybody cares."
