The Hollywood Reporter was honored at the prestigious National Magazine Awards, handed out Monday by the American Society of Magazine Editors.

The Hollywood Reporter submitted three magazine issues from 2014 for consideration: the Oscars, Oscar to Suicide in One Year and Chris Rock issues.
This marked the second year that THR was nominated for a National Magazine Award, following its 2014 nom in the category of General Excellence, Special Interest. THR was the youngest magazine, by far, in both of the categories in which it was nominated.
There were 263 magazines entered in the National Magazine Awards 2015 competition, with a total of 1,548 print and digital entries submitted. A total of 66 publications were nominated in 24 categories, according to ASME.
The awards, established in 1966, are sponsored by ASME in association with the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Known as the “Ellies” — for the Alexander Calder stabile elephant given to each winner — the awards were presented at the 2015 NMA dinner at the New York Marriott Marquis.
THR‘s big night follows its sleek website relaunch in December, which coincided with improved mobile and tablet experience and a record-breaking 17 million monthly unique visitors according to comScore.
November saw THR win 14 awards, including best entertainment publication and best website, at the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards. Other recent honors include Emmy wins by four staffers for The Hollywood Reporter in Focus: The Wolf of Wall Street.

THR also recently served as the official industry media publication of the Sundance Film Festival, signing on through 2017 and replacing Entertainment Weekly.
