Patsy Weighill has been head through a rollercoaster few years which has seen the school develop a successful 6th form but at the same plunge into special measures last March.

Ofsted has reported the school is making steps in the right direction since then and now the school will link up with Southam in the Stowe Valley Multi-Academy Trust, a change which will take place on April Fools’ Day.

A spokesman for the school said: “Ms Weighill’s intention was always to see the school through to the completion of the school joining the Stowe Valley Multi-Academy Trust, in order to provide stability for staff and students during the process.

“The conversion took a little longer than expected but during this time the two positive Ofsted Monitoring visits, staffing stability and improvements in student behaviour have demonstrated that the school is on track to secure a positive future with the new MAT.

“Ms Weighill would like to wish the new Trust every success and to thank the parents, staff and students at Bilton for their support over the last seven years. “

Ms Weighill added: “I will miss the enthusiasm, resilience and determination to succeed that our staff and students have demonstrated throughout my time at Bilton and wish them every success for the future.’
