The 2017 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer and now the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting is happening now, so each of the potential Freshman are letting you know why they should appear on the 2017 XXL Freshman cover.

Playboi Carti is one of hip-hop's newest and brightest stars out of Atlanta, looking to land a placement on XXL's coveted Freshman cover. His work thus far has been co-signed by the likes of A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert, Rich The Kid, among others, and his fan base only seems to get bigger with each passing month. With astonishing SoundCloud numbers, thanks in part to catchy tunes like "What," "Fetti" and "Broke Boi," Playboi Carti looks to bring his signature rhymes to the mainstream while maintaining the same appeal that made his day one fans support him in the first place. He's currently gearing up to drop his debut mixtape after releasing two new songs earlier this year.
