DA rules shooting was justified in Taunton rampage

An off-duty Plymouth County deputy sheriff was justified in the fatal shooting in May that halted a series of attacks by Arthur DaRosa, who killed two people and injured several others during a violent outburst that ended at the Taunton Silver City Galleria, prosecutors said Wednesday.

The finding came in a report issued by the office of Bristol District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III, which examined the actions of Deputy Sheriff James Creed, who was having dinner in a Bertucci’s restaurant when the May 10 incident happened.
