An Allentown man punched a co-worker at Lehigh Valley International Airport, resulting in mouth, jaw and teeth injuries, authorities said.

William R. Montgomery, 53, of the 200 block of North 13th Street, allegedly assaulted Wagdy W. Zaky about 4:50 a.m. Feb. 16 at the airport in Hanover Township, Lehigh County, according to airport police.

Zaky was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem. His injuries included fractures in the bone sockets for four teeth, which had to be removed, police said.

Montgomery was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Michael D'Amore on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.

Officials at the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority, which runs LVIA, said the incident did not involve airport employees. The two people worked for a third-party ground transportation company, officials said.

He was released on $50,000 unsecured bail and faces a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled March 3 before D'Amore.

Montgomery could not be reached for comment because no phone number could be found for him. He is being represented by a public defender, court records say.
