Special prosecutor Jerry Blackwell painted George Floyd’s death in police custody through the eyes of witnesses as young as 9 years old on Tuesday, the second day of testimony in the trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin.

Blackwell, the founder, chairman and CEO of the Minneapolis firm Blackwell Burke who is assisting prosecutors pro bono, asked a 9-year-old on the witness stand how she felt seeing an officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck right before her eyes. Chauvin was filmed kneeling on Floyd’s neck for more than 9 minutes.
