If you think that Channing Tatum is just a joke-telling, body-ripple aficionado you'd only be part wrong. He isn't only these things. He is also a devoted husband to Step Up co-star Jenna Dewan Tatum and father to four year old Everly.

In his time as an actor (post his stripping and modelling days) Tatum has had a mix of commercial and critical successes, with movies like G.I. Joe making big bucks, whilst being almost universally trashed by critics, meanwhile movies like Foxcatcher were showered with prestigious awards nominations.

Tatum's next film, Logan Lucky, will hopefully fit both the bills. However, neither critical acclaim nor box-office figures are what spur Tatum on when choosing his roles these days. No, his reason is a LOT cuter.

In an interview with EW he discussed his decision-making process, saying:

I've done things where I thought they were going to be financially successful, and they failed. For me, the only thing I can be super sure of at the end of the day is whether I'm proud that I made the movie, even if it never comes out.

But what made him change his perspective from money and acclaim to personal pride?

The birth of his daughter.

When you start worrying about what the outcome is more than what you're making, it's really tough to make something that is pure. At the end of my life, when I have to look at my daughter in the face and go, 'Daddy took time out of our lives, out of our relationship, to go do something,' it better be worth it. It better not just be for money.
