Two anti-drug operations in Lapu-Lapu net 4 men, yield shabu worth P500K

More than half a million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated yesterday from four persons in two separate drug operations in Barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City.

At 8 a.m., the City Intelligence Branch headed by by Chief Insp. Gifter Sucalit and the City Anti-illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group headed by Senior Insp. Vernino Noserale conducted a buy-bust operation in Camella Homes Phase 2 in Barangay Pajac and arrested Joey Aying, 32, and Joseph Flor, 21, who are both from Barangay Pajac.

Sucalit said that they confiscated 17 small sachets and 3 medium packs of suspected shabu worth P187,030 from the two suspects.

The police also confiscated P3,500 from the suspects believed to be proceeds of selling shabu.

Later at 8:20 a.m., the team of Noserale conducted another buy-bust operation at Plaza Bankal and arrested Melvin Sarmiento, 32, and Janiel Jadman, 28.

Both suspects are residents of Barangay Pajac.

Sucalit said that Noserale and his team confiscated from the two suspects six medium size packs of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P354,000 and P5,000 cash believed to be proceeds of their illegal trade.

The suspects were detained at the Lapu-Lapu Police station pending the filing of charges.
