Anyone who claims they haven't spent way too long poring over a text a crush has sent them is a goddam liar. Whether you're over-analysing the three kisses they signed off with (surely this means they actually want to snog you IRL?) or pestering your friend by asking them annoying questions like, "but do you think they mean 'haha' in like a funny, or a sexy way?", we've all been there. And honey, it ain't pretty.

If instead of doing the incredibly unfashionable thing of, y'know, asking them out, you can now get an app to do all the hard work for you. Crushh uses algorithms to read and analyse the words used in your text messages, to figure out whether the person sending them actually wants to get in your pants, or so its creator says anyway. Aaaaand, it does it without them knowing.

Once you've downloaded Crushh, select the contact you want to analyse and the app will get down to business. This is how it works:

You’ll then get a score out of 5 indicating who likes who more, where a 2.5 means you like (or hate) each other equally. The algorithms basically work like a person does. It looks at factors like frequency, length, response times, and features within the texts like sentiment, words, punctuation and emoji usage.
You even get a chart showing how the score has changed over the life of your relationship, along with measures of engagement and interest. It will even show the corresponding texts from any day so you can use it to pinpoint the exact messages that could have caused a change in the relationship.

They've even picked up on some texting trends, and say if someone sends you a link, they've got it bad.

No need to waste endless hours freaking your noggin over a kissy face emoji, now you can just let an AI technology do it for you.
