2 vehicles left unlocked, with keys inside, stolen in Clinton

CLINTON - Police are investigating the thefts of two vehicles that took place in a development on Monday.

The first theft was reported at 1:40 a.m. Monday when a Goosetown Road reported to Patrolman Anthony Robbins that her 2014 Acura SUV had been stolen from her driveway.

At 7:35 a.m., Sgt. J. Cory Kubinak investigated the theft of a 2015 Lexus sedan from the driveway or a Haverfarm Road residence.

The roads are located within the same development. Both vehicles had been left unlocked with the keys inside. Police believe the thefts occurred between midnight and 1:15 a.m.

The Essex County Sheriff's Office found the Lexus in Newark on Monday and the Acura, also in Newark, on Wednesday.

Anyone with information on Monday's motor-vehicle thefts, is asked to contact the Town of Clinton Police at 908-735-8611.
