Jimmy Fallon can't pull off an earring quite like Harrison Ford.

At least, that's what the late-night host said when the star of Star Wars: The Force Awakens stopped by NBC's The Tonight Show Tuesday. After Ford took his seat in Studio 6-B in New York City's 30 Rockefeller Center, he first gave Fallon some grief over his introduction. "You keep saying that I'm Academy Award-nominated," he said. "Don't you get it? I didn't win. So why...?"

"Because no one here is nominated," Fallon said. "They just hear 'Academy Award,' 'Harrison Ford.'" Ford asked, "Oh, nobody here's nominated?" to which Fallon joked, "No, that's your own personal hell." With a sly grin, Ford said, "Oh, s--t. I didn't know that. I thought you were all nominated." Thankfully, Fallon assured his guest, "We love you! We don't care if you won."

That's when Ford noticed Fallon's missing earring. "Wait a second! Look that way," he said as Fallon turned his left ear to the camera. The host said, "I know what you're going to bring up."

"What do you mean?" Ford asked.

"No, I know what you're talking about," Fallon said.

"You can't even see it," Ford said, noting the missing hole.

"It closed up," Fallon explained.

"It closed up?" Ford asked.

"Last time our pal here was on the show, you pierced my ear. There was blood everywhere," Fallon said of Ford's 2013 Late Night appearance. "Then we got matching earrings, remember?" Ford couldn't resist teasing Fallon for getting pierced in the first place. "I gotta ask: What kind of guy allows himself to be physically mutilated by an amateur for no apparent reason?" he joked.

"You're not an amateur! You're Academy Award-nominated!" Fallon joked. "You almost won an Academy Award, for God's sake!"

"And I almost pierced your hear!" Ford quipped.

"You really did, though," Fallon recalled. "That was good. That was in there pretty good, man. But that giant feather, I couldn't pull it off, man."

"I don't try to rock a feather myself," Ford said.

When Ford was a guest on Late Night on Nov. 1, 2013, Fallon attempted to prove he was a "manly man" to Ford by sharing several pictures from his trip to a ranch. "When you look at me, do you see a manly man? Do you see a mirror image of yourself?" the TV host asked his guest.

"No," Ford said. "I'm obviously much better looking than you. Or I use to be."

Fallon then asked Ford about his earring, which he'd gotten 15 years prior.

"It was a friend of mine's birthday, and we had a kind of long lunch," Ford said, implying he'd gotten a little tipsy. The actor noticed both of his friends had earrings, so he got one to match.

Fallon decided to follow suit. "Because he is one of the coolest people in history and I want to be like him, I've asked Harrison Ford to pierce my ear. I've never had my ear pierced. I'm very scared about this," he said. Fallon, who asked to have his ear numbed but was rebuffed, even screamed before the piercing began. Ford gave him a slightly sour look and said, "What a puss."

After a bit of preparation and much trepidation, he poked a hole through Fallon's ear and gave him a long, dangling red feather earring. "You want to go for the other side?" the actor teased.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35.
