Here’s the first image from ‘Back’, the new sitcom from Mitchell & Webb

The first official image has been released for ‘Back’, the first project that David Mitchell and Robert Webb have worked on together since ‘Peep Show’ finished in 2015.

The Channel 4 sitcom sees the pair reuniting with Peep Show writer Simon Blackwell and follows Stephen (David Mitchell), who is forced to take over his father’s pub when he dies.

But there’s a similar dynamic to Peep Show, with Webb playing Andrew, a former foster child of his parents that he’s constantly at loggerheads with.

The show also stars Sherlock actress Louise Brealey as Stephen’s sister Cass, Penny Downie as mum Elaine, and Geoffrey McGivern as Stephen’s eccentric Uncle Geoff.

It’s set to begin on Channel 4 in the autumn, after cameras rolled on a six-episode series earlier this year.

Despite Peep Show ending in 2015, the anarchic spirit of the cult sitcom has lived on in the form of actor Matt King – who has embarked on a DJ career as character Super Hans after the show ended.

So far, he’s DJ’d at a massive selection of UK festivals and even headed out on his own tour last year.

And Peep Show could still return, with creators Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong refusing to rule out the prospect.

“We don’t plan to kill them off so the opportunity to do more would be there if we chose to”, they previously admitted.
