HAMPTON -- Officials from the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NJSPCA) discovered 300 rabbits, and other animals, at a borough home on Friday.
Roughly 100 of the rabbits "were outside in cages full of feces," according to a statement from the NJSPCA. The rest were inside the home, located on Black Brook Road.
Officials also found guinea pigs in the house and a calf in the basement.
The animals have been signed over the NJSPCA, according to the statement, and a rescue and removal process is currently underway.
Authorities were made aware of the animals from a call to the NJSPCA's animal cruelty hotline.
