Alabama added a new commitment Friday afternoon with another import from Texas.
Vernon Jackson, a three-star athlete according to the 247Sports composite, plays a versatile assortment of positions. He's listed as a dual-threat quarterback and defensive end who can also play linebacker.
Texas A&M and TCU were also pursuing the 6-foot-3, 240-pound product of Boling, Texas, according to 247Sports.
Jackson is the 11th to commit to Alabama's 2018 signing class. Nothing is official until he signs the National Letter of Intent in February.
The latest commitment bumps Alabama up to No. 23 in the 247Sports composite ranking for the 2018 class.
