CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Alvin Bailey was arrested during a traffic stop in North Royalton early Monday morning.

According to court records, he failed a field sobriety test, registering a reading of 0.145 percent and was cited for OVI. The legal limit in the state of Ohio is 0.08 percent. Bailey was also cited for speed and unsafe vehicle.

Bailey is also facing misdemeanor charges on possession of drug paraphernalia, drug abuse and failure to comply with a lawful order.

According to the Royalton Post, citing a police report, an officer saw Bailey speeding northbound on West 130th Street. He then turned onto Valley Parkway and into the Paw Paw Picnic Area just off of West 130th.

An officer saw Bailey exiting the vehicle and he reportedly ignored commands to go back inside, with Bailey instead bending down under the tailgate, according to the report. Bailey then stood up, seeming surprised at the officer's presence, according to the report.

The arrest occurred at 12:57 a.m. Bailey told police he had been drinking on the team plane, according to the police report. The plane landed at 8:45 p.m. Drinking on the team plane would violate team and league rules. He would be subject to team discipline if that were the case.

The league has been made aware of the incident and Bailey will be subject to the NFL's personal conduct policy.

The Browns released the following statement on behalf of Vice President of Football Operations Sashi Brown regarding the arrest:

"We are aware of the incident and have spoken to Alvin to express our displeasure and extreme disappointment. This is a matter that must be taken seriously and we will comment further at the appropriate time."

Bailey was at the team facility today. He started at right guard on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins in place of John Greco, who moved to center in place of injured center Cameron Erving.

Bailey is due in North Royalton's Mayor's Court on Thursday at 9 a.m.
