Free Lunches For Kids This Summer

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD -- Thousands of kids in Montgomery County will get free lunches throughout the summer as part of the Montgomery County summer food program.

Kids aged 18 and younger can come to any of the locations below, from Monday to Friday in the dates written, to get a free lunch. No appointment is necessary, the Montgomery Schools website says, but kids have to eat at the location.

"The free meals will be distributed at approximately 120 sites throughout the county every weekday starting June 19," the website says.

About 35 percent of Montgomery County Public Schools students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunches. The program is designed "to bridge the 'nutrition gap' when school is out."
