CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio - We took a jaunt to Cuyahoga Falls for this week's Cleveland's best weekend brunches and breakfasts feature. Beau's on the River, in the Sheraton Suites-Akron/Cuyahoga Falls, serves up an extensive buffet with both hot luncheon offerings as well as a full complement of breakfast items, but the real draw is the vantage. The restaurant juts over the Cuyahoga River, and its design takes full advantage of the view. No matter the season, it never gets old.

Beau's on the River: Entrance
Head in the front door of the Sheraton, and the restaurant is straight downstairs. (There is an elevator for those inclined.) The restaurant used to be Piatto, which used to be on Main Street in the heart of downtown Akron. Beau's opened in 2013; here's a review we ran last year of its dinner. (Marc Bona, cleveland.com)
Beau's on the River: Buffet
Sunday brunch at Beau’s on the River is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s $24.95 (for kids ages 4-12, it’s $14.95). (Marc Bona, cleveland.com)
Beau's on the River: Breakfast treats
You expect eggs and hash browns and the usual at brunch. But it’s nice seeing blintzes – slightly sweet cream-cheese-filled delicacies tucked in light pastry wraps and topped with a fruit drizzle – as well as Beau’s take on Eggs Benedict. Speaking of treats, there is a Bloody Mary bar. (Marc Bona, cleveland.com)
Beau's on the River: Dining
Beau’s on the River is at 1989 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, 330-920-7530. It’s right off of Ohio 8 and about a 35-mile drive from downtown Cleveland. Because it’s a hotel, on-site parking is plentiful. The hotel is in a section of Cuyahoga Falls that has undergone a recent renovation, and several craft-beer bars and restaurants are nearby. (Marc Bona, cleveland.com)
Beau's on the River: Attire
Attire for Sunday-brunch diners ranges from Sunday best to business to very casual. (Marc Bona, cleveland.com)
Beau's on the River: Omelet station
With deft flips, chefs prepare omelets made to order. Bacon, mushrooms and other accoutrements are tossed in per your order. Want another spoonful of onions? No problem. Skillet-turned waffles are prepared with a variety of toppings available. (Marc Bona, cleveland.com)
Beau's on the River: River view
A basket of banana muffins was served on our table. And it’s not uncommon between bites to see people get up, saunter, and check out the views – trees lining the narrow river’s edge with still and rushing water below. (Marc Bona, cleveland.com)
Beau's on the River: Prime rib
Not in the mood for breakfast? A chef slices prime rib. (Carved ham also is available.) (Marc Bona, cleveland.com)
Beau's on the River: River
Hard to imagine the same river in downtown Cleveland has wound its way to the burg of Cuyahoga Falls, but there it is. Wintertime brings an icier, snowier view below the restaurant. (Marc Bona, cleveland.com)
Beau's on the River: Rushing water
It’s easy to see how Beau’s came across its full name, when you see the Cuyahoga River rushing by. (Marc Bona, cleveland.com)
Beau's on the River: Stepped view
The design at Beau’s is smart: Elevated views allow for all diners to have some sort of a view through spacious windows. Lights hang from narrow strands and are not obtrusive to the views. (Marc Bona, cleveland.com)
Beau's on the River: Narrow banks
A view like this never gets old. By the way, Beau’s also has a sister restaurant – Beau’s Grille - in the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn Hotel and Suites on West Market Street. (Marc Bona, cleveland.com)

Beau's on the River: Dessert
Pastries, pies and petit fours all satiate a sweet tooth - if you have room after brunch. Speaking of room, the aisles are spacious to maneuver, and the food-serving area isn’t too jammed. (Marc Bona, cleveland.com)
