The video of the single, a cover of Bridge Over Troubled Water, was released on ITV in the minutes before Coronation Street aired at 7.30pm, and showed behind the scenes footage of the A-listers recording the single, as well as footage of the community coming together in the aftermath of the blaze.

Featuring the vocals of the likes of Stormzy, Louisa Johnson, Liam Payne, and Emeli Sande, the lyrics of the 1970s track became very poignant in the wake of the devastating fire; plans for the single were announced by Simon Cowell, just a day after the fire, and was recorded three days later, with scores of celebrities spotted arriving at a west London studio.

Gareth Malone reportedly led a choir of 300 locals featuring Grenfell Tower residents on the single.

Cowell lives just minutes from the estate where the blaze left at least 79 dead and hundreds more without homes, and revealed he has donated £100,000 of his own money to the Artists For Grenfell fundraiser, the charity supporting the Grenfell victims and survivors.

The single is available on iTunes now and money raised through artistsforgrenfell.com will go towards The London Community Foundation.
