Georgia's First Lady Visits Child Development Association

Child Development Association welcomes First Lady Sandra Deal for Georgia's Pre-K Month.

ROSWELL, GA – First Lady Sandra Deal visited the Child Development Association on Tuesday, October 18th t0 show support for quality early learning as part of Georgia’s Pre-K month long celebration.

“We are excited to have First Lady Sandra Deal visit our center to show our children the community cares about their education,” said Donna Smythe, executive director of the Child Development Association. “The enthusiasm and support we receive from leaders across the state show they understand the value of quality early learning to ensure school readiness, higher graduation rates and lifelong empowerment.”

The First Lady participated in a reading activity with the children, took a tour of the facility, talked with staff, and got an up-close look at the many ways that the center is supporting early learning.

The Child Development Association is a NAEYC accredited 3 Star Quality Rated center that provides affordable early learning programs and childcare for children of low-income families in the Atlanta metro area. Their education programs prepare the children for success in education and life while the childcare programs enable their parents to maintain full-time employment to provide for their families.
