Porsche gives all its employees an £8,000 bonus - even the cleaners

After a year of record profits, Porsche executives decided to hand out a bonus to all its employees – including cleaners and canteen staff.

The company is to hand a bonus of €9,111 to each employee – a reference to the car maker’s classic Porsche 911.

The company’s engineers and senior staff will get the same bonus as the company’s production line workers, janitors, and cafeteria workers, according to Die Welt.

Porsche traditionally hands out a bonus to the 21,000 workers at its German plants – but this year profits were high enough for the company to hike the bonus to pay homage to its classic 911 car.

Uwe Hück, Chair of the Group Works Council, said, ‘Negotiating a bonus is never easy. However, this time it was particularly difficult to arrive at an outcome.

‘In the end, no one in our large VW family received anywhere near as large a bonus as our employees at Porsche.’
