Recently, Complex News took a visit to the Brooklyn Museum to check out the exhibit "Basquiat: The Unknown Notebooks" with soul singer Bilal, who just released his fourth studio album, the lush and very analog In Another Life. While there, we chopped it up with him about the album's message, what it was like working with Kendrick Lamar, and what it means to be a black artist in 2015.

We also talked Basquiat's art, what responsibility means when you're an artist with a platform, and art's relationship to social change. Check out the video above for the interview in full.
