Members of Ulnes Walton Bridleways Association (UWBA) organised a Wear Anything Pink Ride from Longton Riding Club, in Moss Lane, Ulnes Walton, in aid of Cancer Research UK and Dementia UK.

Riders, in pink fancy dress, trotted around a choice of three routes – 20km, 25km and 32km – enjoying the local countryside and woodlands.

Sue Taylor-Green, chairman of UWBA, said: “We have had a few members affected by cancer or dementia and so we wanted to do a fund-raiser.

“Everyone enjoyed it and got round with a smile on their faces.

“We can’t give a precise figure yet, but we know we have raised more than £1,000.”
