Some members of the youthful, exciting cast of Stranger Things have emerged as boasting musical skills. Dustin is no exception.

Gaten Matarazzo appeared in a pair of Broadway productions before making his way to Hawkins, Indiana. The young actor first popped up as an alternate in Priscilla Queen of the Desert in its Broadway debut. He later popped up in the beloved Les Misérables as Gavroche and Petit Gervais, from March 2014 to March 2015. Matarazzo’s dream role, as of 2014, is the titular masked menace of Phantom of the Opera.

The other Stranger Things kids are kindred musical spirits of Matarazzo. Millie Bobby Brown (the powerful Eleven) has shared covers of John Lennon’s “Imagine” and “You Know I’m No Good” by Amy Winehouse on her YouTube channel. Finn Wolfhard, the actor behind Mike, recently played the opening to Nirvana’s “Lithium” on the guitar.

As for the older kids, Joe Keery (the redeemed Steve) drums for Chicago rockers Post Animal. Jonathan Byers — actor Charlie Heaton — is another drummer, having worked for the now-defunct group Comanechi.

See Matarazzo stepping on stage and into the shoes of the Les Mis‘s leading man, Jean Valjean, with a rendition of “Bring Him Home” below.
