'Man on Wire' (Netflix)

It's easy to watch a documentary covering a subject you are interested in. It's more challenging to watch one on a subject you have little memory of. But "Man on Wire" pulls you in immediately. It covers what lead up to Philippe Petit wire-walking between the recently built Twin Towers in 1974. Early footage, well-done recreations and candid interviews tell the story of how Petit conquered the preparations of the feat. "He's so excessive, so creative, so each day is like a work of art for him," a former girlfriend says of the animated Frenchman. The 90-minute doc zips along at a nice pace. Mostly in English, some subtitles. - Marc Bona

'The People vs O.J. Simpson' (Netflix)

I'm looking forward to future seasons of Ryan Murphy's "American Crime Story." The FX anthology series will focus on Hurricane Katrina, the Gianni Versace murder and the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky scandal in subsequent seasons starting in 2018. The first season -- an enthralling deep dive into the O.J. Simpson murder trial -- sets a new standard in true crime storytelling thanks in large part to the strength of its cast. Sarah Paulson as the determined Marcia Clark and Sterling K. Brown as her frustrated assistant D.A., in particular, stand out. - Joey Morona

'Dinner at Tiffani's' (Cooking Channel, Feb. 26, 8 p.m. EST)

Maybe you can't make it down to Bourbon Street for Mardi Gras, but you can still live it out through your television screen. (Though, if you're in Cleveland, you can also make your way to the Bourbon Street Barrel Room in Tremont.) For a taste of New Orleans, first sample the cuisine, then delve into the city's "Drunk History."

"Saved by the Bell" sweetheart Tiffani Thiessen has a new starring role these days as the star of her Cooking Channel show, "Dinner at Tiffani's." She brings the same charm to the kitchen, and this week the network airs her Mardi Gras Celebration episode. Filled to the brim with Southern comfort, the episode features Thiessen's takes on hot crab and kale dip with creole crostini, gumbo, cheesy grits and pecan pralines. - Nikki Delamotte

'Two Weeks Notice' (Netflix)

"Two Weeks Notice" is an underrated romantic comedy from the glory days of Hugh Grant. Sandra Bullock plays a liberal, activist lawyer fed up with Grant, a billionaire playboy, and his antics. The dialogue is fresh and funny, and Bullock and Grant have great chemistry. Although it's from 2002, it was just added to Netflix. It can easily cure your post-Valentine's Day blues. - Emily Bamforth
