Two dead in separate Cleveland shootings

Cleveland police are investigating after two men were shot dead in separate homicides Thursday.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Police are investigating two separate killings on opposite sides of the city.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victims in the cases as 22-year-old Michael Hatcher and 21-year-old Ricardo Nieves.

Nieves was shot in the head and crashed a car about 5 p.m. at West 25th Street and Meyer Avenue, near MetroHealth, police said.

Hatcher was shot at a home on East 73rd Street near the Garden Valley housing complex. He was driven to MetroHealth in a private car, the medical examiner's office said. A 19-year-old man was also wounded in the shooting, police said. The extent  of his injuries was not immediately know.

Police have released few details of the shootings.
