OK fine we're not, but that is the basic premise of the next 200 words: coffee butter, a caffeinated dairy spread that goes on toast, has been invented by Japan company Snow Brand Coffee Soft - and it sounds dreamy.

Discovered by Mashable, the coffee butter will presumably taste like your normal Lurpak of choice, only with a subtle hint of freshly brewed coffee running through it. How has this not existed before?

There's no word yet on how much caffeine is in the spread, but it's set to retail for 230 JPY (about £2) per tub, and we're currently creating a space between the mayonnaise and milk in the fridge door even thinking about it.
