VIDEO: Transformers crew filming submarine scenes in Gosport

But Chris Watson and his family got closer than most last night, when they spotted the crew filming a submarine scene in Gosport.

The group, from Alverstoke, managed to get a great view from the joint services sailing centre in Haslar Road as a vessel was thrown into the water.

The effect of the submarine created a large wave, which Chris managed to capture on video.

He said: ‘They did that same shot about five or six times so they could get the splash right. We had quite a good vantage point.

‘There were a few cars going around and we did see a stunt double for one of the actors as well.’
