See All the Gothic Glam-Inspired Looks on the 2023 Golden Globes Red Carpet
The Golden Globes 2023 are officially here—and the event's red carpet was a little bit gothic.
Following a sweeping series of changes and controversies within the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Golden Globes have returned to NBC for the first time after nearly two years.
Despite the atypical rainy weather in Beverly Hills on Tuesday evening, the stars turned it out on the Globes grey carpet for the official kick off of the 2023 award season with a bevy of gothic glam gowns and bold black ensembles.
And while Jenna Ortega—Wednesday herself—appeared on the Globes carpet in a flowy neutral-colored gown, her vamp, gothic aesthetic was clearly a big inspiration for many of award show’s A-list attendees.
Everyone’s favorite White Lotus guest, Jennifer Coolidge, took gothic to the next level with sexy, subtle off-the-shoulder sequin dress. The Emmy Award-winner looked ultra vamp in her Dolce & Gabbana gown with her black nails, subdued smokey eye makeup, and matching black pumps.
Funny girl Natasha Lyonne also made a statement in long sleeves, wearing a structured shoulder glove gown by Givenchy, joking on the red carpet that the sleek look was bold enough to shield her from the unexpected L.A. rain.
Jamie Lee Curtis commanded the grey carpet with an ornate black cape by Valentino while Normal People star Daisy Edgar Jones sparkled in a tulle-trimmed gown with an embellished lace corset bodice by Gucci.
Everything Everywhere All at Once star Michelle Yeoh and Abbott Elementary's Quinta Brunson chose are more romantic take on the vamp theme in strapless sequin and tulle ball gowns, while Jean Smart and Lisa Marie Presley kept it classic in simple, yet sophisticated black sheaths.
Colman Domingo and Jeremy Pope looked sharp on the red carpet in different, but equally elegant black suit styles. While the Euphoria actor sparkled in a “black diamond" inspired ensemble by D&G, Pope opted for an eye-catching leather suit and added some sparkle with a diamond necklace.
And while Jessica Chastain wasn't outfitted in all black, the Oscar winner turned heads in her own interruption of gothic glam, dazzling viewers in a sparkling strapless spider-wed creation by Oscar de la Renta, accessorized with Gucci jewels.
Ahead, a look at all the gothic glam moments from the 2023 Golden Globes red carpet (and while you're at it, see all the looks here and our best-dressed list here)
