In a new video on comedy website Funny or Die, Ben Affleck extols the virtues of voting as November 8 approaches.

“Register to vote, New Hampshire,” Affleck says in a heavy Boston accent. “All of New England is counting on you.”

In the video, Affleck, a Massachusetts native, describes his connection to New Hampshire in a roundabout way.

“I’m from Boston, and Boston is in New England, which means that New Hampshire is just like my kid brother,” Affleck reasons. “I love New Hampshire.”

The Funny or Die video was made in partnership with NextGen Climate, a political advocacy group, whose website URL is shown at the end of the video as a place you can go to register to vote. New Hampshire voters can also register to vote in person on Election Day.

New Hampshire is a swing state, hence Funny or Die’s focus on it and its political importance. Affleck notes that—before going on a curse-related tangent.

“Seeing as how this election is a bigger disaster than the New York Knicks, the people from New Hampshire are going to have to register to vote. Otherwise this whole damn nation is going to be cursed.

“Whoa, I don’t talk about curses,” he continues, as a photo of Babe Ruth pops up on the screen. “Don’t put the word ‘curse’ in the teleprompter. Take that s*** out. That’s not funny. This is supposed to be funny. There’s jokes, and then there’s curses.”
