Super Bowl Ads 2015
Trending News: Which Ads Will Win This Year's Super Bowl?
Why Is This Important?
Because this is the first time we've seen so many Super Bowl ads released online before the Super Bowl itself.
Long Story Short
Over the past few weeks, major brands have released a number of full Super Bowl ads and teasers on YouTube, before the actual event itself.
Long Story
Gone are the days when you'd have to wait until the commercial breaks during the Super Bowl itself to see what the biggest bands in the country had cooked up.This year, more than ever, brands are releasing either full version or teasers of their Super Bowl ads on YouTube prior to the event itself.
There are at least 10 fulls Super Bowl ads and at least seven teasers currently up on YouTube from brands like Coca-Cola, Dove, NASCAR, Newcastle and Budweiser.
Here are a few that have been generating hype so far:
BMW i3
This ad is a flashback to a 1994 clip in which Katie Couric and Bryant Gumble discuss exactly what the heck the internet is. Then, it flashes forward to them discussing what the heck the BMW i3 is. Major points for nostalgia.
CARL'S JR.
Carl's Jr.'s latest burger babe is model Charlotte McKinney. Flashbacks of Kate Upton...
T-MOBILE
This T-Mobile teaser proves that Kim Kardashian may actually be kind of... funny?
DOVE MEN+CARE
Dove is kind of cheating by just re-circulating this #RealDadMoments ad they did for Father's Day, but it's a tearjerker, and will likely pull at the heartstrings of a few Dads whose emotions are in raw, vulnerable Super Bowl-mode already.
NISSAN
Nissan also went the Dad route, although slightly less sentimentally. Nissan asked seven YouTube stars to create ads around the theme #withdad. Their full 60-second+ ad will run during the Super Bowl.
TOYOTA
And rounding out the trifecta of Dad ads is Toyota.
NEWCASTLE
Newcastle and insurer Nationwide were on the same wavelength, enlisting two of Hollywood's favorite, young, cool and funny female comedians, Aubrey Plaza and Mindy Kaling, respectively, for their ads: .
NATIONWIDE
VICTORIA'S SECRET
Victoria's Secret did what it does best and likely no one will be complaining.
NBC/NASCAR
NASCAR enlisted the world's manliest man, Nick Offerman to tell the nation to get off their smartphones and... get in front of the TV to watch NASCAR? I guess that's slightly more extreme...
BUDWEISER
It wouldn't be the Super Bowl without the Budweiser Clydesdale ponies. In this commercial, a pony intimidates a Chris Pratt-esque man into buying a case of Bud. Points deducted for lack of cute puppies.
Bud also did a second ad aimed at Millennials in which a guy gets to become as a real-life PacMan.
MTN DEW KICKSTART
Mountain Dew pretty successfully channeled the "Turn Down For What" music video in their new ad for Mtn Dew Kickstart. This is one of those ads that I'd actually voluntarily watch more than once. A hip hop-dancing sheepdog? How can you say no?
