WALL, NJ — An Ocean County woman died Friday morning when her car overturned during a crash on Route 138, Wall Township police said Friday afternoon.

Susan H. Parker, 69, of Jackson, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, Wall Lt. Chad Clark said.

After her car hit the hydrant, the Yaris then struck a raised grass berm, which caused the car to overturn, he said. The car came to rest on its driver's side on the front lawn of the Local IBEW 400 union hall at 3301 Route 138, with Parker trapped inside, he said.

As a result of the collision, Route 138 from Allenwood Road on east was closed for about two hours, Clark said. Wall Township EMS and MONOC paramedics responded, along with the Glendola Fire Department and South Wall Fire Rescue. The New Jersey State Police and the state Department of Transportation Emergency Response Team responded to provide traffic safety support.
