From Sicilian to Grandma to Clam -- S.I. only serves the upper crust.
But this is where you, The Experts, come in: Cast your votes for the borough's "Best Pizza of the Year" in the 2016 Best of Staten Island Awards poll below.
Deadline: All votes are due by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017.
HOW THE BEST OF STATEN ISLAND AWARDS WORK
By now you probably know the drill: It's up to you to nominate and elect the borough's best of everything that makes life entertaining, delicious, sometimes challenging, but always culturally enriching.
Nomination phase: After the call for nominees in a particular category is posted on SILive.com, you share your passionate nominations for one week in the comments section. (Example: Nomination phase for "Best Pizza" runs from Tuesday, Dec. 20, through midnight Wednesday, Dec. 28.)
Voting phase: After finalists are announced, the voting/poll phase runs for one week. Help us get the word out to make sure your finalists get their share of the voting love: Share the poll! We encourage you to blast social media with calls to vote. Go old school with flyers and distribute them at your fave business. Stump door to door for your candidates. Whatever it takes -- within legal and moral reason, of course -- to get S.I. some much-deserved recognition is fine with us.
Winner announcement: We feature your top picks on SILive.com with feature stories, photo galleries and video profiles. The next 2016 Best of S.I. poll category launches the next Wednesday on SILive.com.
In the coming weeks: After each nominate-vote-win category cycle, we follow up with a series of additional voting categories celebrating many aspects of life on this borough.
So, dine out. Catch some live music and theater. Get a tattoo. Belly up to a dive bar, cocktail lounge or dance club. Whatever. Just determine the borough's best. Then nominate your picks as their respective categories are announced, one by one, on SILive.com. Nominees with the most votes in each category become the finalists for the individual (i.e. Best Pub Grub, Best Sushi, Best Band, Best Burger, etc.) polls.
Early next year: We will publish the definitive guide to the Best of Staten Island. And there also will be an event to honor all of the winners you select. More details on that as they become available.
