Gillespie ends season with three silvers

The Wragby athlete claimed three silvers as he concluded a positive campaign at the Radley AC Open in Abingdon.

The day started brilliantly with a personal best effort of 9.04m in the shot putt, which placed Jim second.

“I’ve now thrown over nine metres three times this winter, which is really pleasing,” he said.

Jim then threw 23.53m in the hammer and 25.88m in the discus for two more silvers.

“I’ll have a three-week block of training before my next competition, and a holiday to round off the winter’s throwing which has the best it has ever been.”
