The next sound you hear will be the collective sigh of relief from feminists and riot grrrls around the world. Le Tigre has reunited, and they’re back in the studio to record a new song set to be released in October. When speaking to Perfect Pussy’s Meredith Graves for the Talkhouse Music Podcast, Kathleen Hanna revealed the news. “Le Tigre just got back together in the studio — you have the scoop — for a special song that we are going to release hopefully, like, early-to-mid-October,” the Bikini Kill singer stated. “I will not say what it’s about, but it’s been really fun working with them again.” Sadly, Hanna explained, this doesn’t mean there’s a new album on the way or an upcoming tour. But fans of the group have waited since 2004’s This Island for new material, so the news is reason to celebrate. Hanna has kept busy working with Bikini Kill’s Kathi Wilcox on their Julie Ruin collaboration, which saw a new album earlier this year called Reset.
