You may not have noticed because you're too busy playing the game to check the time, date, and even whether you remembered to put pants on this morning (you need a five-star rating on this appearance, OK?!) but it's a special time for Kim Kardashian, and Kim Kardashian: Hollywood specifically, right now — this week marks the two-year anniversary of the game's release. Yes, two whole years of K-stars, dates at Oak in NYC even though you can barely afford the wine there, and Ray Powers being mean about your outfit for no fucking reason, especially considering you're wearing Balmain and he never changes out of that drab gray suit. YES, RAY, I WENT THERE. IT'S ON.

To celebrate the occasion, Kim Kardashian graciously took some time out of her busy schedule — yes, amid a week in which both her new GQ cover and hubby Kanye's "Famous" video were released — to chat with Cosmopolitan.com about the app and its crazy popularity, its menagerie of pets, and what's maybe coming up in the future of time-suck gaming, because really, Kim's at the forefront.

Happy anniversary! Obviously Kim Kardashian: Hollywood is a success like no other, despite the many imitators. Why do you think it's been so popular?Well, I think that we did a really good job at making sure that my character in the game and everyone else around was as lifelike as possible, and [the game allows you] to do all the same things that I'm doing. I had a mermaid party for my daughter's birthday, and you can go and have a mermaid party in the game. I went to Iceland recently and you can go to Iceland in the game! I think we've done a really good job at sharing my schedule and my life, and [I'm] open to making it as virtually real as possible.

In terms of recreating your life in the app then, is there anything that's off limits?Well, you know it is my game. I mean my husband hasn't been in the game yet, my daughter hasn't been in the game. And that's for no particular reason ... but I definitely wanted it to be my thing, but there's nothing that's particularly off limits. The Glu team and I have such a good relationship, [we] communicate so much about everything that's going on in my life and events, and they really know how to put the right events and what fun things to put in — not that they know my limits because it's not like I've really given them any, [but] I approve everything. I think it's a pretty good balance of fantasy and real life all mixed together.

Do you think we ever will see Kanye pop up for a concert or fashion show or even a sleepover?Maybe. You know, he loves video games and it would be fun if he was in. You never know. As I travel, as things happen in my life, I just want to make sure it's mirrored in the game. Kanye is going on tour soon. Maybe we'll do a tour in the game.

What are some of your favorite pets in the game?I mean, Mercy is forever my favorite little kitty, and there's Mercy in there. [Editor's note: It is unclear in what location Mercy is available; it's quite possible this is just a special pet perk Glu gave Kim.] You know what, you just gave me a good idea. I'm going to add North's fish! A glow-in-the-dark fish. Nobody knows that, so I'm going to add that to the game. She has five glow-in-the-dark fish — a purple one, a fluorescent pink one, fluorescent yellow, did I say fluorescent orange? Yes, orange, and a green one. The green one's name is Little Mermaid.

OK, but from Ariel to Ursula, can we talk about Willow Pape for a second? I know you've been asked before, but is she based on anyone in particular, you know, like maybe Taylor Swift?I do get asked that all the time. She's not. I would say that, I mean, obviously I would have to know the characteristics of other people to put them in the game, so ... But Willow's not based off of any one [person].

Do you play the app yourself — is it weird to be playing alongside, you know, yourself?Yes, I do, of course! I test out a lot of things. [Glu] will often send me a special code with a level to test it out or a different event to try. So I kind of piecemeal it.

Are you on the A-list?I am on the A-list, thank you. [Laughs.] And what's so funny is my sisters ask me all the time, like, what are secret codes to get more energy and K-stars? And I'm like, they don't exist. They don't exist.
