Ivanka Trump Clarifies Her Role: ‘There’s One First Lady’

Ivanka Trump said she has no plans to take over the traditional role of the first lady, as some have speculated.

During an interview with ABC that aired on “Good Morning America” Thursday, Ivanka Trump called that speculation an “inappropriate observation.” (RELATED: The One Photo From Ivanka Trump’s Meeting With Al Gore Today)

“Well, I think it is an inappropriate observation,” she said. “There’s one first lady, and she’ll do remarkable things.”

Trump’s wife Melania Trump is planning to stay in New York City until her son Barron finishes the school year.

Trump’s daughter has stepped away from her clothing and accessories business, and the Trump Organization to comply with federal ethics laws.

“It’s emotional [that] I’m stepping away from my business,” Trump said. “My father will be president, and hopefully I can be there to support him and to support those causes that I’ve cared about my whole professional career.” (RELATED: Ivanka Trump’s Swanky New Home In Washington)
