If you were born in the late '80s/early '90s, the chances are you have owned a fair few iPods in your time, and almost definitely one of those has been a Nano or a Shuffle.

The company said in an email: “Today, we are simplifying our iPod lineup with two models of iPod touch now with double the capacity starting at just $199 and we are discontinuing the iPod shuffle and iPod nano".

It's probably not too much of a surprise considering that the IPhone does all the same things that an iPod can do, and some, but it still marks the end of a wonderful era. An era when Spotify didn't exist and we all owned bright pink Motorola V3 flip phones.

Good times.

And we're not the only ones mourning the loss of our youth. Let's take a trip down memory lane, via the medium of Twitter, shall we?
