Jennifer Aniston has revealed why a Friends reunion wouldn’t work in today’s world.
The hugely popular US sitcom aired for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004, with speculation about a potential reunion movie persisting ever since.
Speaking in interview with Lorraine Kelly, Aniston – who played Rachel in the series – said that the premise of the show wouldn’t make sense in modern life because people spend too much time on their phones.
“There was something about a time when our faces weren’t shoved into cell phones and we weren’t checking Facebook and Instagram,” she said. “We were in a room together, or in a coffee shop together and we’ve lost that.”

Earlier this year, Marta Kauffman, co-creator of Friends, said that there would never be a reunion movie.
A recent poll also found the public’s favourite Friends character.
Meanwhile, supermodel Elle Macpherson has recently admitted she regrets appearing on Friends because of the show’s continued popularity on Comedy Central in the UK and Netflix in the US.
Macpherson played Janine Lacroix, the dancer room-mate of Matt LeBlanc’s Joey Tribbiani, for five episodes in season six of the show in 1999.
She told Australian magazine TV Week: “If I’d known how important it was in the US, or how long it would be shown on TV, I may not have chosen to do it. It was a lot of pressure, if you look at in the way that it’ll be around for 20 or 30 years.”
