One of the more memorable moments from last night's Super Bowl—at least before the end of the fourth quarter—was the latest Snickers ad that co-opted The Brady Bunch into selling candy bars. But if you thought the ad just used some clever editing and dubbing, over on FXGuide they have a thorough break-down of the complex visual effects needed to change what the characters were saying in the original footage from the TV series.

Mouth doubles were cast and brought in to perform the new lines, and their performances were meticulously composited and merged with the original footage using 3D recreations and complex facial tracking. Sections of the original Brady Bunch's set also had to be re-built and lit to perfectly match the original for actors Danny Trejo and Steve Buscemi to perform their parts and be merged back into the old footage.
