On Tuesday night, the future of 14 NBA franchises will be decided when the league holds its annual Draft Lottery at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York (airing at 8 p.m. EST on ESPN). The complicated ping pong ball system will reward one non-playoff team (or the Eastern Conference finalist Boston Celtics who acquired their chance via trade) with the opportunity to select first in June's NBA Draft.
One of the prizes of the draft is UCLA freshman Lonzo Ball, the versatile guard who is making more headlines because of his outspoken father than his game these days. Earlier this month, the Ball family turned the sneaker world upside down when they officially introduced the Big Baller Brand ZO2, an independently designed signature sneaker for Lonzo that retails for $495. Reaction to the shoe was mixed and the price has widely been deemed outrageous, but talk about the ZO2 has been non-stop for the past two weeks—a testament to LaVar Ball's lofty vision for his son.
Thus far, we've only seen the ZO2 in black and gold, something that will likely change when the new season tips off this fall. So before we find out which teams will have the best shot at adding Lonzo to their roster, we've teamed up with artist Patso Dimitrov to imagine the ZO2 in colorways inspired by this year's lottery teams. That includes the Los Angeles Lakers, which LaVar has singled out as his preferred landing spot for Lonzo.
