The first Tour de Y in Warwickshire will take place on Sunday September 11, giving participants the chance to ride a five or a 25-mile route, while there is also a 250m route for under-fives that can be completed on a bicycle, scooter or trike.

Funds raised through sponsorship will go towards the YMCA Coventry and Warwickshire, which provides accommodation for 73 otherwise homeless young people and supports many more through sports programmes and training and gives them opportunities to learn new skills at its social enterprises.

Chief executive Andy Winter said: “Our Tour de Y event is a great way of getting members of our community to raise money for young homeless people, whilst challenging themselves to tackle our 25 mile route or taking part in the family five-mile ride.

“We urge everyone to get involved in this event to raise money to help support our work in the future.”

Registration costs £10, £5 for children, £25 for a family of up to five people or free for under-fives. Everyone who participates will receive a medal.

The event will take place between 12pm and 5pm. To sign up, visit ymca-cw.org.uk/tour-de-y-2016 or call 024 7659 7009.
