Saskatoon Forecast
First Day of Spring (Tuesday)
Spring started at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday morning in Saskatchewan and the new season was rung in with a pretty mild start to the day.
-9 is what it felt like with wind chill with temperatures around -4 under cloudy skies, that stuck around into the noon hour as we warmed up to the freezing mark.
Cloudy skies hung over the area for the rest of the day with a slight chance of some light snow at times as we rose up to an afternoon high 2 degrees above the freezing mark.
Wednesday
Wind chills will likely touch into minus double digits Wednesday morning as predominantly cloudy skies stick around through the day.
The mercury should manage to make it up above the freezing mark by 2 degrees for an afternoon high, making for a mild first full day of spring in the city.
Thursday-Friday
The big weather shake up happens late this week as a powerful low pressure system pushes in and gets set to plaster us with snow.
Winds will pick up on Thursday as clouds continue to stream in with daytime highs likely to pop up above freezing both Thursday and Friday.
Snow will start early Friday as the system presses in, with five to 10 centimetres possible in Saskatoon and locally up to 15 centimetres in some areas with winds up to 50 km/h with gusts in excess of 70 km/h possible.
It may be best to cancel any unnecessary travel plans on Friday as near zero visibility is likely along with treacherous road conditions.
Weekend Outlook
Snow is now looking like it’ll ease early Saturday as winds ease before another system pushes in later on that may cause it to pick back up again on Sunday with daytime highs around the freezing mark both days.
