HEAVY congestion occurred in the southern part of Cebu late Thursday afternoon after a tractor accidentally hit a 10-wheeler wing van truck along the national highway in San Fernando town.

P03 Alvin Enad of the San Fernando police precinct said the Isuzu wing van with plate number WQB 689 driven by Ocho Joel Sereño and a tractor driven by Francisco de la Cruz were both headed for Carcar City in the south when the accident happened at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Enad said the accident happened in the vicinity of Sitio Magtalisay in Barangay Balod, San Fernando town.

Enad said the wing van came to a sudden stop which caught Dela Cruz by surprise.

The tractor damaged the wing van’s right tail light. No one was injured during the accident, but traffic congestion worsened since the two vehicles were stalled in the middle of the highway.

Enad said traffic build up reached the vicinity of Barangay Sangat in San Fernando town.
