There are plenty of reasons to book into the hairdressers for a trim, if you're anything like me, the biggest motivator for getting a chop is when you realise you hair is 90% split ends and only 10% healthy strands... Damn you, hair straighteners.

But for last year's Love Island contestant, Malin Andersson, the motivation for going short was much more meaningful. Yep, the reality tv star, decided to donate her hair to charity, and we can't help but love her for it.

Taking to twitter to document the process, Malin shared snaps of her chopped lengths bundled up ready to be donated to the Little Princess Trust - a charity that 'provides free wigs for children that have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses'.

Malin explained that her decision to go short was inspired by her mum, who is currently battling breast cancer for the third time.

"For those asking why. My mum is currently battling cancer for the third time.. and it's spread.. I'll be positing some more pics of my hair tomo for you all xx"

Fans were quick to show their support for the former Love Island favourite...

We think Marlin looks incredible with her new pixie cut hairstyle, and we're sending all our thoughts to her and her family at this time.
