Update: Legal notices posted on the entrance to World of Beer, including a temporary retraining order against selling or damaging equipment in the space, suggest it’s permanently closed.
Original post: I’m not sure what’s going on with World of Beer, the sports bar in Crossgates Mall in Guilderland that carries hundreds of brews. An employee at the mall’s information desk told me the closure was sudden and they have been instructed to say that World of Beer is “closed temporarily.” An World of Beer staffer who emailed me wrote, “We can’t get an answer as to when or even if it will reopen.” A beer-distribution rep told me he’d been informed it is permanently closed.
The telephone number either won’t connect or returns a busy signal. The Facebook page and Crossgates page on the chain’s website make no mention of the closure.
